Agenda Exhibition

The BA inaugurated the 10th round of the Agenda exhibition, which lasts until 2 March 2017. The exhibition is a meeting point—in terms of time and place—for a large group of artists with diverse interests, cultures, and formations to exhibit their works side by side, unbound by any theme, technique, or material. The only restriction is the space allowed for each artist to feature their own artistic creations, and the only criterion is the artistic value of the works.

DUSIB launch at the BA

The BA, in cooperation with Senghor University, announced the launch of the university diploma in library and information science (DUSIB); an internationally recognized one-year distance learning diploma in the field of library and information science.

Book Launch: Daughters of the Nile

The BA Alex Med is hosting a book launch for Daughters of the Nile: Egyptian Women Changing their World, which will be held on Sunday, 5 March, 6:00 pm, at the BA. The book is a collection of autobiographical presentations by a cross-generational group of Egyptian professional women whose successes in Egypt and elsewhere have been recognized and honored by some of the highest national and international institutions and governments.

The Bibliotheca Alexandrina in cooperation with the U.S. embassy in Alexandria and the American University in Cairo (AUC) is organizing the Jazz Tales Festival, which will take place at the BA and the AUC–Tahrir Campus between 7 March and 1 April 2017. The BA Arts Center is extremely passionate about celebrating jazz and therefore hopes to bring jazz culture back through various initiatives including this festival. A rich program of 12 concerts will bring to the audience a variety of jazz subgenres, from Latin, swing, and fusion jazz to contemporary and Arabic jazz. The four-week festival promises a vibrant line-up, with concerts by an array of established jazz bands from Egypt and the United States. The festival will also feature four jazz workshops by renowned American and Egyptian musicians.
